Plans are still in the works, but TFA hopes you will include June 17 on your calendar and plan to attend this informative and fun landowner workshop in Dickson. The workshop is made possible by a generous grant to TFA from the TN Dept. of Agriculture.
Do You Own Forest Land? Got Questions? Get Answers.
Are you a forest landowner with questions on the future of your land and how to manage it to fulfill your desires? The West Highland Rim Forestry Association, the University of Tennessee Extension, the Tennessee Division of Forestry, and the Tennessee Forestry Association are offering a gathering designed for forest property owners who are interested in managing their land, trees, and other resources in a sustainable, ecological and enjoyable manner. The field day will focus on:
1. Creating Open Forest Environments in Promoting White Oak
2. Where are My Property Boundaries?
3. Knowing Your Property --- Sources of Spatial Information
4. Those Exotic and Invasive Plants Do Not Belong Here
The gathering will be held on Saturday, June 17 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Dickson beginning at the Dickson County Extension Office on 303 Henslee Drive, travel to Montgomery Bell State Park for a cookout, then end at a property of a private landowner for a hands-on field session. There is no cost to attend the gathering and the cookout, but please register by Thursday, June 15 so that we can plan meals for workshop participants. For further information or to register for the workshop, contact Candace at TFA. 615 883-3832 or cdinwiddie@tnforestry.com.
